First Transit and First Vehicle Services Employees Recognized as Master Technicians of the Year by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence

First Transit and First Vehicle Services is proud to recognize Raul Rivera as a National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Transit Bus Technician and Daniel Williams as a National Institute ASE Master Automobile & M/H Truck Technician of the year. Fifty-two automotive professionals were recognized on November 17, 2022, at the Fall Board of Governors meeting of the National Institute for ASE held at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley in San Diego, California.

Dave Larsen, Senior Vice President of Maintenance for First Transit and First Vehicle Services; Brad Pellman, Chair of the ASE Board of Directors; and Timothy Zilke, ASE President & CEO, presented the awards to Rivera and Williams.

Thirty-three companies from both Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and aftermarket segments sponsored the individual technician recognition awards in the auto, truck, collision, parts and service categories, along with awards for instructors. In addition to looking for top scores on ASE tests, award sponsors examine on-the-job excellence, community service and other factors when selecting honorees.

“We are proud of Raul and Daniel. Together bringing almost 30 years of best-in-class maintenance experience, this is one of the highest achievements for our maintenance technicians,” said First Transit and First Vehicle Services Senior Vice President of Maintenance Dave Larsen. “Leading the industry with the most experienced technicians shows our commitment to maintenance excellence in the communities we serve.”

Rivera has been with First Transit for 19 years and holds eight ASE certifications, supporting our maintenance operations in Puerto Rico.

Williams has been with First Vehicle Services for 10 years and holds 17 ASE certifications, supporting fleet services in Longview, TX.

First Transit and First Vehicle Services has 70 ASE Blue Seal maintenance shops, more than any other transportation company in the U.S. In total, 554 First Transit and First Vehicle Services technicians are ASE certified and hold more than 3,800 certifications, plus 229 technicians hold master certifications.
