First Transit Retains Contract with Denver RTD Group 24
CINCINNATI, OHIO – First Transit announces that the company has retained its contract with the Denver, CO, Regional Transportation District (RTD) Group 24. First Transit will continue to operate more than 115 buses and manage more than 350 dedicated transit employees for the fixed route services for Denver RTD Group 24. The contract has been retained for an additional three years plus 2 option years.
Senior Vice President, Beverly Edwards commented, “First Transit’s partnership with the Denver RTD dates back to 1989 and we are excited to continue operating Group 24 for another five years.”
Gary Forbes will continue to serve as the General Manager for Denver RTD, utilizing his 24 years of experience managing all aspects of public transportation systems. He has a very strong background in various areas of management in a variety of transportation settings, which include operations, vehicle maintenance, planning, route development, budgeting, union negotiations, safety and training.
