Keith Whalen Joins First Transit

Whalen appointed Senior Vice President of Business Development.

CINCINNATI — Keith Whalen has joined First Transit as its Senior Vice President of Business Development. In this role, Whalen will support First Transit’s operations by delivering sales targets, directing the development of new business, identifying opportunities and evaluating the competition in the marketplace.

“I am pleased to be a part of the transit team,” Whalen said. “I look forward to this new opportunity and the challenges that await. My main goal is to produce viable targets to expand the First Transit brand and its operations.”

President of First Transit and First Services Brad Thomas believes Whalen will be an integral part of the division.

“Keith brings many years of experience to the company,” Thomas said. “His knowledge and understanding of our business and our markets is a great asset to our division, and will allow us to continue making positive impacts within the industry.”

Whalen began his career driving fixed route services and has more than 23 years of experience in public transportation. He comes to First Transit from MV Transportation, Inc., where he held various positions as President, East Group Operations and most recently Chief Development Officer. His career also includes previous positions with Laidlaw Transit Services, Inc.
