First Transit Accepts
CDSA’s Excellence in Employment Award

First Transit operated NCTD recognized for its commitment to diversity in the workplace.

CINCINNATI— On Thursday, September 15, First Transit’s North County Transit District (NCTD) location received the Excellence in Employment Award from the California Disability Services Association (CDSA) for its partnership with the Arc of San Diego. This award highlights employers that show a commitment to diversity in the workplace through its efforts to develop job opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. In addition to this award, NCTD received five certifications of recognition from state and city government officials at the event.

“This is a great accomplishment for First Transit and our customer, NCTD,” said Tim Omick, general manager, NCTD/First Transit. “We have built a strong relationship with the Arc of San Diego and look forward to extending that partnership into the future. We are extremely proud and honored to have received this award.”

First Transit operates 144 fixed-route buses for NCTD and employs more than 370 employees. The company has operated transit operations for NCTD since July 1, 2010.
