Tom Wittig Named General Manager of Green Bay Metro

CINCINNATI—Tom Wittig was recently appointed general manager for Green Bay Metro on May 17, 2011. Wittig is relocating from the City of Davenport, Iowa, where he was the general manager for Davenport CitiBus. At his new location, Wittig will be responsible for the management of 65 employees and 36 buses that operate throughout the city, and transport more than 1.45 million passengers annually.

“As transit director for Green Bay Metro, I’m looking forward to providing leadership, innovative transit ideas, as well as employee and public involvement to accomplish the transit goals for Green Bay metro and the City of Green Bay.”

Wittig has been in the transportation industry for more than 13 years. In 2009, he received First Transit’s National Silver Award for exceptional safety achievements. In addition, while at CitiBus, Wittig introduced “Green Saturdays” which provided residents free transportation service throughout the city to promote both the service and an environmentally friendly form of transportation.
