First Transit Extends Contract and Welcomes New Team Member to Local Illinois Operations

CINCINNATI—The Board of Directors for the Quad Cities Garage Policy Group (QCGPG) has approved a one-year contract extension with First Transit, Inc., a leading private provider of transit management and maintenance services. In addition, the QCGPG also approved the selection of Juan Rodriguez as the Director of Maintenance.

Rodriguez brings a great deal of experience to the QCGPG, according to First Transit Area Vice President Dennis Jensen.

“We are pleased to have Juan as a member of our team,” Jensen said. “His experience and leadership ability will be a great asset to the QCGPG and continue our mission of providing safe and reliable processes for maintenance of the Metrolink and CitiBus fleets.”

Rodriguez is a 38 year resident of Moline, Ill., and is a graduate of Western Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He participated in the U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship program and is certified as a Journeyman Mechanic. Rodriguez also completed course work for the Auto Mechanics program at Scott Community College and holds many certifications in the fleet maintenance field.

“I am eager to start this new venture and I’m looking forward to working closely with the staff and talented group of technicians,” Rodriguez said. “Together we will provide MetroLink and CitiBus safe and reliable transit buses.”

First Transit has maintained vehicles for the QCGPG since 2003. Rodriguez will oversee 28 employees and the maintenance of 80 transit vehicles.
