First Transit Signs New Contract for Paratransit Services with SEPTA
CINCINNATI— First Transit, Inc., a leading private provider of transit management and contracting services, has been awarded the contract for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority ADA Paratransit services in Philadelphia County, Pa., beginning March 21, 2009. First Transit is part of Cincinnati-based FirstGroup America, North America’s largest transportation company.
The contract is a 4-year agreement that includes the operation, maintenance and management of the Customized Community Transit program, which offers door-to-door paratransit services for Philadelphia County with SEPTA’s fleet of 154 vehicles.
