Illinois NETSPAP Stays with First Transit
CINCINNATI, OH – In July 2007, First Transit successfully renewed their contract with the State of Illinois’ Department of Healthcare and Family Services to develop, install, operate, and maintain an off-site, turnkey Prior Approval Non-Emergency Medical Transportation System and Call Center servicing the entire State of Illinois’s eligible Medicaid participant community. First Transit has been operating this contract since 2001.
Under the direction of General Manager Lester Foster, the Illinois Netspap employs 65 professionals that schedule 250,000 trips annually. This location receives about 360,000 calls each year. The State of Illinois’s eligible Medicaid participant community is estimated to include 1.2 million statewide participants. This call center management contract is overseen by Region Vice President Matt Wood.
