First Transit Begins Paratransit Work in Florida
CINCINNATI, OH – First Transit expanded its presence in Florida with the award by the Jacksonville Transit Authority for Connexion ADA and non-ADA paratransit services. This contract is good for 3 years with 4-one year options available. Service began on November 1 operating a 60 bus paratransit service for the JTA. This contract is valued at $4.8 million for year one.
Ron Williams will serve as the General Manager for the CTC Carrier Service. He has worked in the transit industry for almost 10 years, most recently as General Manager in Cleveland, OH. Williams has been in direct supervision of over 200 drivers, mechanics, dispatchers and administrative staff. He is joined in Jacksonville by Mary Campbell, Assistant General Manager of Operations. She has experience in ADA paratransit as well as non-ADA and general public dial-a-ride services. Ms. Campbell has worked with First Transit for the past 4 years as a manager for paratransit services. James Moore completes the First Transit team in Jacksonville as the Director of Safety and Training. His previous position in Dallas, TX as a Certified Public Transit Inspector gives him tremendous experience to add to Connexion.
This is First Transit’s first paratransit contract in the State of Florida.
