Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) Awards Contract to First Transit

CINCINNATI, OH – First Transit, Inc. has been awarded a contract by COTA to provide paratransit services for Project Mainstream in Columbus, OH. The new contract started in August 2006.

First Transit is excited about beginning a partnership with COTA, being that they have an excellent reputation in Columbus and throughout the country, in providing innovative and new solutions to transportation issues. This partnership will allow Project Mainstream to provide the services required and needed by the disabled community in the most customer friendly, safe and efficient manner possible.

Bud Jordan serves as the Project Manager, bringing more than 15 years of experience in public transportation serves. Prior to this position, Mr. Jordan was responsible for the development of pre-proposal intelligence and understanding of possible new contract location needs prior to an RFP’s publication. He will lead the organization, give direction, maintain control and be the focal point for the safe delivery of customer service to employees, customers, administrative officers and the general public at COTA.

First Transit would like to also introduce Charles Richards, who will serve as the Maintenance Manager. Mr. Richards has over 10 years experience in the maintenance of public vehicles and has experience in budget planning, inventory management, union environments, and development and enforcement of safety policies and procedures. He will be responsible for the system’s maintenance and repair activities.

Bradley Thomas is the Senior Vice President and Bob Jones is the Region Vice President responsible for the COTA contract.
