CINCINNATI, OH – First Transit successfully renewed its management contract with the Jackson Transit Authority in Tennessee. The Jackson Transit Authority has been a customer of First Transit’s since 1987. Under this contract, First Transit provides the JTA with a General Manager, Johnnie Gullett.
The JTA has 17 fixed route buses, 6 paratransit vehicles and 5 maintenance vehicles. They offer both a fixed route and paratransit service. Annual ridership on JTA is about 480,000. The Authority employs 31 operations people, 7 maintenance workers and 3 administrative personnel. They operate under a capital budget of about $5.4 million. The JTA management contract is supported by First Transit’s Senior Vice President Rick Dunning and Region Vice President Frank Tobey.
