First Transit Wins Management Contract In New Bedford, Mass.
First Transit to manage public transit operations for the SRTA
CINCINNATI— First Transit, Inc., a leading private provider of transit management, recently received a 3-year contract to manage and operate the Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SRTA) from the City of New Bedford, Mass. First Transit took over management duties on November 1 for the local bus system, which transports more then two million passengers annually. The bus system operates 79 buses, throughout local counties, including Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Fall River, Freetown, Mattapoisett, New Bedford, Somerset, Swansea and Westport.
