First Transit joins Greater Miami Chamber Chairman’s Circle
CINCINNATI—The Greater Miami Chamber today announced that First Transit, America’s leading paratransit provider has joined the Chamber’s Chairman’s Circle, a diverse cross section of leading businesses in South Florida committed to the betterment of the business community.
First Transit, which has operated transit systems for more than 50 years, is the leading provider of ADA paratransit, fixed-route, transit call centers, and university shuttle systems. Customers include transit agencies for cities such as New York City, Seattle, Denver and metropolitan New Jersey; and universities such as Louisiana State University and Princeton University. In addition, First Transit administers the country’s largest paratransit call center with New York City Transit, scheduling more than 25,000 daily trips.
First Transit’s regional Miami operations will be lead by Matt Wood, senior vice president for First Transit. Wood recently relocated to the Miami area to assist the community and Chamber in their transportation needs and was recently appointed to the Chamber’s Transportation Committee.
“I am excited about the many mass transit opportunities in greater Miami,” Wood said. “First Transit is eager to begin working with the Chamber and the community in improving transportation access for the residents of Miami.”
The Greater Miami Chamber Chairman’s Circle represents the highest level of involvement and commitment to the Greater Miami Chamber. Membership in the Chairman’s Circle is limited to 100 companies and provides the ultimate in access to community issues with the group providing recommendation and guidance to the Chamber’s leadership through participation as a member of the Chamber’s Board of Governors.
