First Transit Renews Management Contract with Manchester, NH

CINCINNATI, OH –   First Transit renewed its agreement with The Manchester Transit Authority to provide transit management services for their fixed route, paratransit and pupil services.  The Manchester Transit Authority (MTA), managed by First Transit since 2002, operates thirteen fixed routes, ADA paratransit service, and pupil service in the City of Manchester, New Hampshire. The MTA was created in May 1973 by the City of Manchester to provide public transit service for the community. ATE Management and Service Company, Inc., the predecessor company of First Transit, managed the MTA from 1973 until 1982.

Dave Smith is the General Manager for the MTA.  His team includes Assistant General Manager Karyn Bennett and Operations Planner Michael Whitten.  Annual ridership for MTA is over 2.1 million passengers.  Their 130 employees operate and maintain 114 vehicles.  This contract is supported by Senior Vice President Rick Dunning and Area Vice President Dave Lee.
