CINCINNATI, OH – The Chemung County Transit System in Elmira, NY voted to renew their contract with First Transit for another 5 years at $4.7 million each year. First Transit and Chemung County have been working together since 1988 to provide fixed route, paratransit, Medicaid and pupil transportation to the residents in the county.
Chemung County Transit System is managed by General Manager, Bob Williams, Assistant General Manager, Shawn White and Maintenance Manager, Dave Spencer. These three managers, along with the other 56 transit employees, operate and maintain 41 buses that provide service in the county. Annual ridership is about 540,000. Chemung County is overseen by Senior Vice President Brad Thomas.
