Cincinnati, OH – The Dade County Aviation Department voted to maintain their relationship with First Transit to operate their shuttle service at the Miami International Airport, a relationship that started in 1997. First Transit successfully renewed their contract for another 10 years, keeping this partnership going until at least 2018. This contract has an annual value of about $500,000.
Bill Sowards will remain the General Manager for the Miami Airport shuttle services, and Derrick Hall will remain the Assistant General Manager/Operations Manager. First Transit employs 70 transit professionals that operate and maintain 34 vehicles at the airport. Ridership on the shuttle is about 6 million each year. The Miami Airport is one of 8 airport shuttle contracts that First Transit operates. This contract has regional assistance from Senior Vice President Brad Thomas and Region Vice President Scott Conroy.
