CINCINNATI, OH – The newly created MetroWest Regional Transit Authority chose First Transit to start up operations for their fixed route service. The contract started on December 1, 2007 and continues for the next five years, valued at about $1 million annually. The MetroWest RTA office is stationed in Natick, MA under the direction of General Manager, Geoff Dalphonse.
Geoff Dalphonse has been working in the transportation industry for over ten years. In this time, he has managed over 60 vehicles and has been responsible for daily operations at three different systems. In his most recent position, Geoff was the Assistant Transit Director in Fayetteville, NC, responsible for their transit system’s fixed route and paratransit service. He also assisted in developing a driver trainer program.
Ed Carr, Administrator for MetroWest Regional Transit Authority, praised First Transit, saying “not only did First Transit meet the deadline of a 30 day startup window, but exceeded my expectations with the quality of effort put into hiring, screening, training and more training of the future bus operators for the Authority.”
Mr. Carr also had high remarks for Geoff, stating “his day to day leadership skills have really impressed me; he has gone the extra mile to insure that this Authority runs as effectively and efficiently as possible.”
