Putnam County Keeps First Transit for Another Five Years

CINCINNATI, OH – First Transit successfully renewed its contract for fixed route and paratransit services for Putnam County Rapid Transit (PART) in Carmel, NY.  This contract was initiated in 1993 and will now continue until 2012.  The 5 year contract is valued at over $4 million annually. 

PART has 65 committed First Transit employees maintaining and operating their 43 buses for fixed route and paratransit services.  Their annual ridership has almost reached the 1 million mark.  Karen McKinley is the General Manager for PART, and is part of the success of this contract.  Mike Watson, Maintenance Manager, completes the First Transit management team.  Putnam County also received support from Senior Vice President Brad Thomas.
