CINCINNATI, OH – First Transit was awarded a contract with the Corridor Transportation Corporation (CTC) in Laurel, MD for fixed route and paratransit services. First Transit now operates Howard Transit, Connect-A-Ride, CAR RYDE and HT Ride for the CTC. The CTC has 60 vehicles and 150 dedicated transit employees. This contract began July 1, 2007 and is good for 3 years. Total value for the first year of service is about $10 million.
Tom Driscoll will serve as the General Manager for the CTC project utilizing over 30 years of experience managing all aspects of public transportation systems. He has a very strong background in various areas of management in a variety of transportation settings which include operations, vehicle maintenance, planning, route development, budgeting, union negotiations, safety and training. He is joined in Howard County by James Newton, Operations Manager, who has over 14 years of transit operations experience.
