First Transit announces that the company has contracted with the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) to provide campus shuttle services for the school’s transportation system, RISD Rides. This newly awarded contract, which began September 5, 2014, is for three years.
First Transit Senior Vice President Tim McCann states, “We are appreciative of the opportunity to partner with Rhode Island School of Design and recognize the importance of safe, reliable campus transportation. First Transit is committed to setting the highest standards for the communities we serve and look forward to providing safe, efficient transportation for RISD students and staff.”
RISD Rides provides evening shuttle services, operating on two fixed routes covering the campus and neighboring areas until midnight. After midnight, RISD Rides offers To-Your-Door service, which transports students from designated campus buildings to their residences within the designated area of service.
