Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation Awards Contract to First Transit

CINCINNATI, OH – First Transit, Inc. has been awarded a five year contract by the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation (IPTC), to manage and staff the IndyGo Transit Store located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The IndyGo Transit Store is the major communications and sales contact which provides trip-planning services, retail sales of bus passes, customer comment processing and schedule/map distribution to passengers. The Transit Store provides in person retail services to approximately 200 customers per day, handles 16,000 phone calls per month and processes nearly $1,000,000 in transit pass sales each year.

Customer service is the main focus/mission of the IndyGo Transit Store. The staff is involved with outreach activities such as public education on transportation, air quality and the promotion of transportation alternatives to the single occupancy vehicle. In addition, the staff also provides technical assistance to transit riders, employers and other outreach activities.
